Yield stress should be integrated into rotation and oscillatory rheology and can be measured using some of those techniques. But in practice it is a stand-alone topic of considerable importance, and those with such interests seem generally happy to work on other issues (such as shear thinning) via separate methods.

Another approach to yield stress is via yield strain, though this is also a value interesting in its own right.
